I'm Back!

Hello again - I'm alive!

And apparently there's been some doubt,
because people have called
(Thank you Carol and Carla!)
they've e-mailed
(just to see if I'd respond)
and my real life friends
(like Tiffany!)
have asked
if I was ever going to
blog again because
it's been forever
since my last post!

And so I decided
today was the day!

My absence wasn't intentional,
I wasn't on a self-imposed
hiatus, studying abroad,
or captured by aliens
- it just happened!

The truth is,
I've just been busy and
something had to give!

Here's a recap:

It started with my
local show
The Barn Show,
at the end of
March,

and rolled immediately
into a last minute
trip to Zion National Park
in Utah, The Grand Canyon,
and Las Vegas with my family,

four more monthly barn shows
at my other barn,
Chartreuse and Co.,

My son's 16h birthday
(I've been making both my boys
stand by that sign on their birthdays
every year since they were babies!)

 Which rolled right into his
confirmation
Celebrated with a visit from my
Florida in-laws
immediately followed by a visit
from my mother and sister from Ohio

Weekly trips to the auction to find the goods

And then, I couldn't blog because
I had to get my youngest son to lots of
lacrosse practices and games

in between track practice
and meets for the oldest,
my "real" jobs,
housework, life, family
and friends
and the next thing I knew,
it was summer!

So, we took a spur of
the moment trip to
Oahu,

and ended up having our
best family vacation, ever.

Which is when I started thinking
we need to move to Hawaii,
until my youngest pointed out
antique hunting and barn shows
aren't exactly island-living
pursuits!

Oh well, maybe someday..,
but right now, I'm
officially "back" and
it feels good!

How have YOU been?

Press Times Two!

What's that old saying
about the only
bad press is no press?

Well, guess what?

There's nothing bad about
the great press both of
my barn shows
has been getting lately!

My local barn,
was just included in
of vintage shows not to miss

and now my other venue,
Chartreuse and Co.,
is included in
Washingtonian magazine's
list of 61 hidden gems
(page 103, thank you very much!)

So much fun!

Speaking of The Barn Show,
go check out the list of
what I've been
working on with the rest of
the crew!
Our spring show
opens this Friday!

Oh, and just in case one great
barn show isn't enough for you, we're also
open at Chartreuse this weekend
for a special market days event!

Not only will the main barn be open
and stocked with super cool finds,
20 guest vendors will be bringing
their goods to the grounds of the
old barn this Saturday and Sunday!

Why not, make it a barn crawl kind
of weekend?

Busy, Busy, Busy!

I've been super busy with
my barn shows lately
and it's not going to slow
down anytime soon!
(Which is just the way I like it!)

I just finished up
my monthly show
and I've been working
with the rest of the
crew at
in Gambrills, Maryland
to put the finishing
touches on our spring
show, which opens,
Friday, March 30th!

Stop by
for some sneak peeks of
what's in that show,
but in the meantime, take
a peek at how things
looked at Chartreuse
last weekend!

Plan It!

I've been busy
with the rest of
getting ready for
our spring show,
which opens on
Friday, March 30th.

I'd love to show
you what I spend
practically all my
free time on, so
mark your calendar now,
and I'll hope to see you
at The Barn!

Postcards go out this
weekend, but you
definitely don't need
an invitation - you know me!

And if you can't wait
until then to get your vintage fix,
don't forget you can always
shop The Kramer Angle,
at my monthly show,
Buckeystown, Maryland!

We're open March 16th - 18th!

(Please tell me I'm going to see you
somewhere this month!)

This Moment!

I'm having one
of those moments
where all is right
in the world
and I just want to
freeze time and make
it stay this way forever!

My kids are happy,
my husband is happy,
(shoot, he's golfing at this moment, so I know he's happy!)
I even think my dog
is happy!
(the crazy tail wag when she found
an unused tennis ball in
the garage this morning
gave it away!)

And me?

How can I not be,
when I'm surrounded
by so much that brings
me joy?!

I hope your day is a happy one!

Name Calling!

The thing I love the most
about auctions is that you
never know what you're going
to find, what will speak to you,
and make you long to
take it home.

Say hello to what
whispered my name yesterday:

A silver plate
golf trophy inscribed with:

JPCC
Member Guest 71
Runner Up
Third Flight

a couple of old books,
Godey's
Lady's Book
and Magazine
dated 1856

and the beautiful
old oil painting,
of a couple, seemingly
carefree, drifting
down river
in a canoe.

I love when I
hear my name
being called!

Wow!

I just found out that
both of my venues,
and
are included in the
new edition of
as two of the three best
shows to shop for vintage
goods in Maryland!

How cool is that?

I'm also thrilled that
my friend Michelle's shop,
in southern Maryland
was also included!

Thank you Flea Market Style!
(Guess what I'm doing first thing Monday morning?
Heading to the bookstore to buy a few copies!)
