This is really the first summer where I am just like the kids and don't want school to start. We are all in the pool groove and i love not worrying about homework. I too want time to stop and worry how things are changing as they get older. My 13 yr old hugs are not as long as they use to be and she is too so independant it feels like she doesn't need me.. ug being a parent is so darn hard!

Oh....Bless your heart! I so can relate to everything you're feeling. I was thinking the same thing yesterday when we all went swimming! All too quickly, we'll be walking down the aisles watching our boys get married. I too am sad, but thanks be to God for the promise of eternity!

Don't be so sad! They will come back to you, and when they do they will be 2 of the best friends you ever had. Mine aren't old enough for me to speak from experience, but I see my brother and my mom and how close they are, and my husband and his mom talk almost every day like close friends do. This is just a phase in the process, but they'll come back to you! Just hang in there!

I love this post. I feel the same way. Time is moving so fast. I always ask my little man if i can give him a pill that will keep him 6. He always says no. Sheesh, he wants to grow up...whats with that?
